| Unemployment rate at 8.9 per cent in Italy |

| [ Italica ] - Unemployment rate is at 8.9 per cent in December 2011, according to provisional data issued by Italy's National Institute of Statistics on Tuesday. The employment rate is 56.9 per cent, down 0.1 per cent if compared to November 2011 and December 2010. The unemployment rate in the 15-24 age bracket is at 31 per cent, down 3 per cent in a year-to-year basis.
