| Italy: consumer price index down 0.3 % |
|
| [ Italica ] – In May, inflation was down 0.3 per cent on a year-to-year basis, Italy's National Institute of Statistics reports. Italy's Harmonized Index of Consumer Price (HICP), too, was down 0.3 per cent on an annual basis. Year-to-year data recorded a 1.4 and 1.9 per cent increase in the price of alcoholic drinks and tobaccos, and communication, respectively. Transports price was down 2.9 per cent.
