| Italy's consumer price index up 4.2% |

[ Italica ] - In September 2026, inflation was up 4.2 per cent on a year-to-year basis and 0.7 per cent on a monthly basis, ISTAT, Italy's National Institute of Statistics reports in its provisional data. Year-to-year data recorded a 11.1 per cent increase in the price for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels. The price of transports was up 8.6 per cent, and food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded a 2 per cent increase. [September 30, 2026 - Italica]
